On Depression
The philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre once took an injection of mescaline,
in an attempt to pull himself out of a depression. Soon he found himself
ambling about the streets of Paris, pursued by imaginary giant lobsters. But he
wasn’t depressed anymore.
